Greg Reid was born on the northern side of New Guinea in the summer of ’64 when the world was being changed by a musical revolution that would alter the landscape of human consciousness forever.
As a child he remembers skies of deep blue where he used to cloud dance, green jungles in which he used to play and explore, endless sandy beaches with clear, blue water in which he swam with friends flying above schools of tropical fish and castles of brightly coloured coral and the end of the day was always greeted with beautiful balmy, star filled nights where his mind would wander above a world that felt like it was spinning just right.
Sometimes though the world has a wobble and everything tips upside down which occurred when he left the much loved, adventurous land of his birth and arrived in Australia to be greeted with a way of life that has shaped him to this day.
While a child (and young adult), he did the usual things like climbing trees and running around like a maniac lost in the other worlds of his imagination. His large but long lost collection of treasured comics helped in the development of his creativity, allowing him to go into places where curiosity ruled the cat and led to a need to express the stories unfolding inside of him
One of hIs main passions has always been writing stories but like many undisciplined artistic types, he has too many projects happening at the same time and not enough time to spend on them all. He has been known to wish for another two of him so he can spend more time on these creative endeavors and perhaps one day actually finish some of them.
Amongst his creative interests is his determination to write a song that the whole world will be singing long after he is gone.
A song that says it all, that invites the mind to dance and sing along and lifts the spirit to heights long lost but never forgotten.
A nice parting gift for the memory of his egos.
He also likes spending some time contemplating the mysteries revolving in the galaxy of his own belly button, a pursuit he has never tired of and found it to be more satisfying than trying to preach to the inverted, diverted and already converted.
Like others, he has learnt to stay afloat as he sails upon the stormy seas of life, learning that the hardships we encounter in life make us stronger for the very act of facing them and that mistakes may be scars we get from life but they are also lessons to learn from.
He is the father of two beautiful children and has a fortunate life filled with creative pursuits which he chases upon the merry go round in his mind.
He hopes you enjoy the stories he has written and encourages feedback from any who have something good to say about him.
